In The Accused, Vasundhara spins a mesmerizing crime saga that dances on the jagged edges of a fractured society. The tale ignites with a chilling jolt: Madhukumar, a quiet soul of Green Tree Apartments, is brutally slain, his blood staining the calm of this leafy haven. Fear ripples through the residents like a cold wind, their once-idyllic refuge now a stage for dread. Enter Inspector Rakesh, a resolute seeker of truth thrust into his inaugural murder probe. The stakes soar when he learns the victim’s widow, Mira, is the ghost of his first love—a revelation that tangles his quest for justice with the thorns of a past he thought buried.

The Scandal
Far from this shadowed enclave, a dazzling scandal unfurls in the glitzy realm of fame. The relentless flash of paparazzi cameras catches the luminous actress Pooja Reddy in a clandestine tryst with the enigmatic superstar D at a velvet-draped hotel. The uproar threatens to eclipse her stardom, driving her to seek refuge in the labyrinthine Madhukumar case. What begins as a fleeting diversion morphs into an obsession, pulling Pooja into a vortex of secrets where every clue is a breadcrumb leading deeper into darkness.

Full of Suspense
With a pen dipped in suspense, Vasundhara crafts a narrative that crackles with unbridled avarice, the rot of corruption, the sting of crime, and the venom of digital trolls lurking in the ether. The Accused is a kaleidoscope of society’s underbelly, refracting its hidden sins through a prism of taut, electrifying prose. Stepping from the silver screen to the written word, Vasundhara—a Tamil cinema luminary—unveils her storytelling prowess in this debut, conjuring a world where every shadow hides a story, and every twist dares you to look closer.
About The Author
Vasundhara was born in New Delhi, India, and spent as little time there as possible, evidenced by her lack of understanding of what constitutes a good plate of pani puri. Or Gol Gappe as Delhiites like to call it. She spent her childhood moving between states and schools, leaving her with a lack of long-term friends but an overactive imagination. Thankfully she channelled this imagination into many stories from a young age. Of course she is a procrastinator so most of them are half finished but A for effort, as she likes to say.

Having started acting at the ripe old age of seventeen, she spent many years trying to make a mark for herself in the film industry by performing a variety of roles.
Including being a part of some award-winning films. One fine day she decided to set her procrastination aside and actually finish a story. So she armed herself with one too many cups of filter kaapi and started writing this book. And BOOM, a couple of years and much procrastination later, she actually finished her first novel.
Now that the first milestone has been achieved she hopes to write many more books and secure her place in your shelves. Apart from acting and writing, Vasundhara spends her time painting, doomscrolling, baking cookies when she should be on a diet, and convincing her family to let her have a dog.
