Hanuman the Flying Hero, the first in a two-part series adapted from the Valmiki Ramayana, offers young readers an engaging introduction to one of India’s most cherished mythological figures. Written by Sudhamahi Regunathan and illustrated by Anushka Madhavan, the book features full-colour illustrations and accessible storytelling rooted in classical tradition.

The book follows Hanuman, the monkey god known for his strength, devotion, and wit, on a series of adventures—from his childhood and the discovery of his powers, to his meeting with Lord Rama and his daring journey to Lanka in search of Sita.
Sudhamahi Regunathan, an author and translator with a deep interest in faith and philosophy, brings clarity and care to these stories. Her previous works include Rishabhayan: The Story of the First King and Ramayana for Babies. The book also includes a companion section for adults and older children, offering background and context to the stories.

Illustrator Anushka Madhavan, based in Chennai, brings Hanuman’s world to life with vibrant, expressive artwork. Known for her work on several children’s titles and her workshops on bookmaking, Madhavan’s illustrations capture the energy and emotion of each scene.
Hanuman the Flying Hero is now available in bookstores and online.
