Investor, entrepreneur and women’s financial empowerment advocate Aarti Gupta will launch her new book, I Am My Own Laxmi: A Woman’s Guide to Financial Freedom, Wealth Creation, Personal Finance & Economic Empowerment, on Thursday, 6 August 2026, at Bikaner House, New Delhi.
The launch will spotlight an urgent conversation on women’s relationship with money, wealth creation and economic independence. The evening will feature a discussion between Kaveree Bamzai and Aarti Gupta on wealth, agency and the power of financial choice, followed by a special on-stage poetry performance by Priya Malik.
The event is expected to bring together distinguished voices from business, policy, entrepreneurship, media and culture, including Kiran Bedi, Piyush Goyal (tentative), Masoom Minawala, Aditi Kothari (DSP), Radhika Gupta (Edelweiss), Dr. A. Velumani (Thyrocare), Bharat Lal and Sanjay Gupta (Jagran), among other prominent guests.
In I Am My Own Laxmi, Gupta challenges long-held beliefs that have kept women at the margins of financial decision-making despite their central role in managing households and resources. Drawing on her experience as Chief Investment Officer of her family office, Managing Partner at Anikarth Ventures, independent director and investor, she argues that financial literacy is about far more than money—it is about dignity, confidence, independence and the freedom to make one’s own choices.
A graduate of IIT Kanpur, Harvard University and Northeastern University, Gupta has built her career at the intersection of finance, governance, entrepreneurship and public policy. Her financial literacy initiative, I Am My Own Laxmi, has evolved into a wider movement encouraging women to take ownership of their financial futures.
The book serves as both a practical guide to personal finance and a call to action, urging women to participate confidently in conversations around investing, wealth creation and economic empowerment.
